Frankie Crocker's dream was to be a program director in a number one FM radio station in a number one radio market. That dream came true in 1971 when WLIB-FM, in New York City changed it call letters to WBLS-FM. Frankie Crocker then called on Ken 'Spider' Webb to be his very first 'Morning Man' until the late 1990's
There is so much to say about this man. I had the opportunity to work in the New York Tri-State community along site a man that loved two things. The community and radio. His love for the community youth to help them succeed and reach out to others that need help as well.
It all began for me at twelve years old, Mr. Gene Brown, a retired WW II Tuskeegee fighter pilot, was my neighbor. Its a long story. (please read it) Gene introduced my close friend, Danny Robinson and I to Amateur Radio and prepared us for our FCC written test. We both passed and became licensed radio amateurs. Danny, WA2BQN and I became WA2BQM. In short, radio has been my love and profession ever since. "....If it wasn't for this guy......"
Here are a few of the artists you hear on 'JFC-Bonus Hours each week.
